Nakagusuku Castle is on the list of 100 famous castles in Japan. It is also designated as a Japanese historical site as well as a UNESCO World Heritage site, under the title “Gusuku Sites and Related Properties of the Ryukyu Kingdom”.
The Kanjaagama (workplace for blacksmith)
Ironworks were practiced here but we do not know if it was for the castle or for the village. One theory is that it was used to make weapons for Lord Gosamaru, who was preparing for an eventual attack from Lord Amawari.
